The other day one of my buyers used the word FINE to describe a home we looked at! That is not our goal…
FINE is NOT going to cut it – for the first home you buy as a newly engaged couple – before you start your family!!!!!!
Just as many would caution against “settling” for someone who’s almost perfect, I’d strongly advise against “settling” for a home – just because you’re tired of the search – and the offer process (which we agree – is awful!)
Your perfect property is out there — we will just keep searching!
However…I think it is important to note – that your DREAM home “can be” a FUTURE goal too. There is nothing wrong with buying something NOW – that you can live in, love, maybe improve – and SELL – or KEEP as a rental in the future.
So make SMART buying decisions. Pick the best area or community. Make friends, put your kids in the schools, enjoy the neighbourhood amenities – and then move UP – someday in the future. We will help you choose something that is rentable or sellable in any future market.
We are also MASTERS at uncovering opportunity. Homes that have been on the market for a LONG time – and may be negotiable in price. Homes that are vacant – and sellers just want to let them go. Homes that may need a bit of “work” – but could increase in value – with some sweat and creativity!
Real estate truly is about: Location – location – location. I bought my current home over 20 years ago! It was NOT my dream home for sure – but it was in a dream location (for me!) across from two schools so my kids could walk! Over the years we have put money (ok maybe TOO much!) and time into the house – but fun fact – even with the changes made and money spent – this house is still not my personal vision of a DREAM house – BUT – we created memories and lived a LIFESTYLE here – that I always dreamt of for my family….
Buying a home is a huge decision—it’s not something to rush into out of frustration or impatience. We get it. It can be hard…
But we also have a list of clients who felt the EXACT same way you did last year…and they are either LIVING in – or planning to MOVE into – their “dream home right now” shortly!
