I went to a wine tasting years and years ago in Kelowna. And the Sommelier was very clear…

If YOU like it, that’s all that matters.   

But she said very clearly – that you have to give it 3 try’s!!!!  

I had gone in feeling nervous and a little uncomfortable. At the time I was a bit of a new wine drinker, and I felt out of my element.

I thought she would not appreciate my naïveté and talk in terms that I didn’t understand and recommend Wines that were way more expensive than I can afford. I was worried about feeling embarrassed in front of the other guests on the tour.

Well the leaves are finally falling off the trees – after a lovely October!  Perfect timing to announce a big “change” for ClientFirst Real Estate! 

Bailey and I are so excited to share – that our real estate team is growing! With the addition of a new team member, we’re officially a team of THREE — each bringing our own strengths, experiences and perspectives to the table.

In this industry, it’s easy to focus on numbers or competition, but that’s never been what drives us!

For us, it’s about collaboration over comparison and support over profit. We believe that when you work with people — not just beside them — everyone wins.

So you’re thinking about buying a brand-new home? Shiny appliances, untouched floors, toilets that no one has ever used 😉

That “new house smell” – I get the appeal! With new home construction booming in Alberta (did you know housing starts were up almost 30% in 2025 compared to last year?!) – more buyers are looking at Showhomes and new communities…than ever before.

I helped FIRST TIME buyers this year, secure an awesome deal on a new home in Okotoks – after exhausting the search (we saw a lot of product!) for resale in their price point – with EVERYTHING they wanted!

Just this weekend, I attended a meeting with a client set to invest in a future building (Possession Dec 2026!) – after again, showing my client every available resale apartment/villa on the market. SOMETIMES new is just a BETTER fit for some clients! If willing to wait!!!!

But here’s the part many people don’t realize: when you walk into a Showhome, the friendly salesperson works for the builder – not for you.

If there’s one thing you can count on in Calgary’s real estate market, it’s that it’s unpredictable.

While the rest of Canada seems to move in a more uniform direction, Calgary dances to the beat of its own drum – or maybe to the fiddle at the Stampede….ok funny because it’s true!

If you’ve been in Calgary this July – you’ve probably noticed one very consistent forecast: 

rain.

A lot of it.

Whether it’s morning drizzle, afternoon downpours or sudden evening storms…. it feels like the sun’s been playing hard to get. And while this moisture might be great for our lawns and gardens (and farmers!), it’s definitely making waves in the real estate world – literally and figuratively.

This month – July 2 to be exact – marks 10 years since I passed my final real estate test to become a licensed Realtor. A full decade of keys exchanged, offers negotiated, tears, champagne, deals saved (and lost!) at the eleventh hour and most importantly—relationships built that I’ll carry with me for a lifetime!

It was the day before Stampede 2015….anxiously I drove to the Testing area with my Passport photos – to prove who I was!

One of my buyers recently mentioned this to me while we were shopping for homes….and I couldn’t stop thinking about it! 

Many homeowners try to improve their personal well-being by addressing the atmosphere INSIDE their home. While balancing the energy in your home with feng shui and hygge is great, one method for making positive changes in your living space – can be through understanding house number numerology and how it fits into your life!

I have the true PRIVLEGE of helping people with HUGE changes.  This part of what I do for a living – is truly the one that brings me the most joy!

I don’t have a specific “Category” of people I love working with – I truly enjoy them all!  

AI…everyone is talking about this new technology!

Obviously, REALTORS® can use it to benefit their business.  Many use AI to help create listings and write content that will be published on MLS/Realtor.ca. 

*Fun fact – we write ALL our own content!  We really pride ourselves on presenting a write up – that properly represents the home/location etc. and its value to a new buyer – while respecting and reflecting the existing owner as well!  Part of writing this description, is being fully present in the home…speaking to the sellers in depth whenever possible – to truly understand what you are marketing and selling.  OK OK – I know my write ups are LONG!  Other realtors don’t like me at all…but the way I look at it – there will ALWAYS be that ONE buyer that respects the amount of information we provide…loves the story we portray – and truly enjoys reading the whole 3020 character narrative!  Also, remember the way that keywords are noted in searches done outside of MLS/Realtor.ca – we try to capture words/phrases that potential buyers may use when looking for homes!  

Fun Fact 1 – I am the ONLY member of my family born in Canada! 

In 1966 – my parents immigrated to Canada from Denmark with my two sisters – and created an amazing life here….in this GREAT country.  They CHOSE to come here…to better their life and the lives of their children…..

I was a happy “accident” – born in 1969!  On Feb 14, 1973 my family proudly became Canadian Citizens.  I CRY every time I hear the national anthem…..I literally bleed red…. 😉
